Fleshprints first began in 2006, as an exploration of the markings the painted body leaves behind on static forms. It evolved over time into various manifestations including a collaborative performance with artist kyle chapman in 2011.

This work considers that the body is a temporal presence, ultimately fleeting, while the inked marks it leaves behind act as a form of permanence, a residue of lived physicality. The series utilizes Fingernail scratchings from nail poish, remnants of make-up on the face and inked pigments on body parts that are often fetishized pressed, rubbed and etched onto walls and papered surfaces.

The act of marking transforms the gesture from a momentary performance into an enduring trace, suggesting that while the body itself cannot be fixed, its contact with the world can be tangibly archived and therefore remembered. FLESHPRINTS is a poetically futile act, an attempt to capture the experience of time through fleeting physical imprint.
